Carol Johnson

Executive Vice President of Sales

Before joining Gale in January 2008, Ms. Johnson was employed for 10 years with Kelly Services, a global Fortune 500 staffing and outsourcing firm. As Senior Vice President, Corporate Accounts and America Sales, for five years, she was responsible for leading and developing a strategic account management organization that sold and developed the company's largest customer relationships. She spent the first five years of her career with Kelly managing recruiting and field operations in the metropolitan markets division.

Prior to Kelly Services, Ms. Johnson worked for Norrell Services, also a strategic staffing company, Thomas Cook Travel and Official Airline Guides, Inc., both Dun and Bradstreet Companies, where she held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, account management operations and general management.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Merchandising from Northern Illinois University and an MBA in Accounting from Loyola University of Chicago. In 2008, Ms. Johnson was featured in the Diversity Journal's Executive Profiles as one of the top "Women Worth Watching".

Since January 2008, Ms. Johnson is responsible for Gale, part of Cengage Learning's sales, customer relationships and customer care fulfillment operations, serving the Academic, Public, Schools, Special and Circulating markets in the U.S. and Canada.
