I have had great success with the Gale Search Widgets!!!

The ability to narrow down the ebook choices in my GVRL to a smaller, subject specific, subcollection has made a huge difference in the ease of use for my students.

Once the subcollection is created, I use the Gale widget site to create a subject specific search widget and then place it directly on my library page.

A perfect example is career research. If a student searches my entire GVRL, a search of the word "dentist" yields over 1000 results. However, in the smaller subcollection that I chose and created a search widget for, the same search yields 10 career related results.

The students and teachers love it. I have created widgets for Careers, Chemistry and the Renaissance and I'm sure there will be more to come!!!!
